Instructions - Enhanced Mode

The Enhanced Mode game of X.T. Checkers takes the standard mode into the Third Dimension!  One more dimension gets you 10 times the difficulty level!  Like X.T. Checkers - Standard Mode, the Enhanced Mode requires you to get your 10 Alien pieces to the opposite corner of the board.  The hard part?  The board is now a 3-dimensional board, requiring you to bend your mind with the board!

Rules

All the rules of standard mode apply to the enhanced mode.  The game is played on a 6-pointed star game board.  From 2 to 6 players can play.  Each player is provided with 10 alien pieces, which they place in the triangle of their color.  Play starts with the character playing the green colored alien, and rotates to the left.  Each player gets a chance to move their pieces on the final round, so the possibility of a game ending in a tie exists.  If the green colored alien is not playing, the first player to the left of the green alien starts play.

The colors that play are determined by the color of the first player, and the number of opponents.  If an even number of players are playing, the players choose a point directly across from another player.  If 3 players are playing, the players choose points across from an empty point.  If 5 players play, the color to the right of the first player is left empty.

The object of the game of X.T. Checkers is to get your alien's pieces across the board as quickly as possible, into the pointed star at the opposite side of the board. The first player to get all 10 of his Alien pieces across the board first, wins!  If two or more players get all 10 of their pieces into the destination triangle on the same round, the game is a tie.

Moves

Movement in the enhanced mode is similar to the advance mode, with the addition of the third dimension.  Your pieces may move in one of two ways - they may move to any empty adjacent hexagon tile, or they may jump across any adjacent occupied tile to an empty tile.  If the piece is jumping, it may continue jumping across occupied tiles until it can no longer jump.  Moves/Jumps may be taken in a backwards direction - moves/jumps may not be taken into an opponent's triangle that is not the home triangle or destination triangle.

The moves may also take place in the third dimension.  In the Standard Mode game, there are 6 possible directions of movement, as shown here:

In the Enhanced Mode game, there are 12 possible directions of movement, as shown:

Combining jumps to strategically locate your pieces to their best advantage is the key to winning the Enhanced Mode game.
