General Help

The game is split into 5 areas, each containing 3 stages. In stages 1 and 2 you are required to reach the goal at the end of the level, stage 3 is for boss fights where you must defeat a stronger enemy to clear the level.

Controls

Left/Right (Arrow Keys): Moves you left or right, whether on the floor or in the air

Up/Down (Arrow Keys): Looks up and down, you need to be on level floor and be stood still to look up or down

While on the ground;

Action (S): You will move forward with a punch, which can kill enemies and open powerups.

Jump (D): Jumps into the air, hold the button in for maximum height, or release quickly for a low jump.

While in the air you can perform a secondary action, but only once in a single jump, also, secondary actions cannot be performed if you are in the air by means other than jumping.

Action (S): Performs a backflip. This will push you a little higher in the air, or break a fall during a long drop, and you can also kill enemies while flipping, however, during the backflip, you will have no control, so know where your going to end up before using it.

Jump (D): Performs a homing attack. If there is nothing nearby you will just be accelerated forward, if there is an enemy or something else targetable nearby, you will aim directly for the target. If the homing attack successfully connects, you will rise back into the air and gain momentum, allowing you to use a secondary jump once more. You can use this to create a chain of attacks if there is a lot of targets in the area, and sometimes be able to travel great distances this way if there is no solid ground to land on.

Collectables

As you progress through the levels there are various powerups you can collect to help you

Sphere: Collecting this will add to your total and will restore a very small amount of health, as there are a lot of these, they can restore noticable health over time

Spheres: Contains 10 spheres. Like other powerup boxes, you need to use jumps or punches to get into it.

Shield: This will fill your shield gauge to full. When you take a hit, your shield gauge will decrease while your main health bar will take less damage than normal, the shield effect wears off once the gauge is depleted. Silver shield reduces damage by 33% while gold cuts 50% damage from attacks.

Invincible: Grants immunity to regular hazards for a short period. Anything that kills you regardless of your health will still be able to kill you though, for example, being crushed between 2 objects.

Speed up: This will improve your acceleration and running speed.

1up: Gives you an extra life.

Attacking enemies

To kill enemies you must be in certain modes that are capable of attacking, which you can see from your animation.

Running: Once you hit a certain speed you will be running fast enough to kill enemies simply by running into them. You can't achieve this speed on flat ground but with the aid of slopes/springs etc you will see a change in the way you run.

Falling: Dropping down in the air will put you in a feet first position, where landing on enemies or powerups will destroy them.

Flipping: Backflipping when in the air will allow you to attack enemies on contact.

Rolling: Seen when using the homing attack, hands and feet spinning around will attack enemies.

Punching: Using punch from the ground can attack enemies too.
